Grants and Development Manager

The Jaffa Institute – a growing nonprofit organization that currently operates 40 programs
serving impoverished individuals – is seeking a full-time Grants and Development Manager.
Established in 1982, the Institute for the Advancement of Education in Jaffa (“the Jaffa
Institute”) is a private nonprofit organization that assists severely impoverished residents of
Greater Tel Aviv-Jaffa and Bet Shemesh in Israel. Our mission is to provide these
disadvantaged individuals with the educational, nutritional, therapeutic, and social support
they need to escape the cycle of intergenerational poverty. Each year, our programs serve
more than 4,000 diverse community members, ranging from infants to elderly individuals.
Responsibilities:
Lead a close-knit team of three grant-writers plus intern(s) as needed
Write and edit English content, including grants, social media, newsletters, and PR
Manage grant-related deadlines – letters of interest, proposals, reports, etc.
Research and contact new potential donors
Assist with occasional volunteer visits as needed (during non-corona times)
Collaborate with program, accounting, and fundraising staff in Israel and abroad
Qualifications:
Commitment to the organization’s mission
Professional English writing skills (ability to communicate in Hebrew is a plus)
Organized and capable of managing multiple deadlines
Strong interpersonal communications skills
Tech-savvy
At least one year of relevant experience in grants/development
